Jason Urban is an artist/writer/designer/curator/teacher living and working in Austin, TX. Originally from Northeastern Pennsylvania, Urban earned his BFA from Kutztown University in Kutztown, PA and then his MA and MFA from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA. His prints, drawings, paintings and installations have been featured in numerous venues both nationally and internationally.
Currently, Urban teaches Printmaking and Foundations Drawing at the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to his current appointment, he was Assistant Professor of Art at Southern Illinois University Carbondale where he was head of the printmaking area. Additionally, Urban taught at a number of schools in the Mid-Atlantic region including Tyler School of Art (Temple University), Maryland Institute College of Art, Hussian School of Art, Goucher College, and Bucknell University.
Urban is also co-founder and contributor of http://printeresting.org: "the thinking person's favorite online resource for interesting printmaking miscellany."
